Can I mass update activity or notes for contacts using the Import Wizard?

Question

I would like to mass update notes for a number of contacts. We do not have Data Loader with our SF edition.

Is there a way to do that? If so, can please someone walk me through it. I have been trying to do it by mapping the Notes field to the contact when I do the import but that does not seem to work.
