Custom object, mass action button from Classic in Lightning

Scenario: I have a Custom Object, Training Events. Contacts are added to it using another Custom Object: Attendee. In Classic we have a custom button on the list view in Training Event that lets me select all or some Attendees and do a predefined status update to Status = Completed. That's in Classic. Need to have that happen in Lightning.

 

It's the same functionality that exists on Campaigns where you can select some or all Members and do a status update of them. But I need it on my Custom Object.

    Inline Editing and Enhanced Lists are enabled. 

     

    I enabled my mass action button in the page layout, but that doesn't do anything for the related list view I need.

     

    Here's the Custom object related list I need a mass Update Status button on:

    Here's the related list Member view in Campaign that has an Update Status button and a check box in front of the Member. I need the same functionality on my Custom Object list.
