Syncing Unsubscribes Between Pardot and Marketing Cloud

We have spun off a new consumer division of our company and are using Marketing Cloud. Our corporate company uses Pardot. We need to make sure that if someone opts out via one system, the other acknowledges this. 

 

Right now, we have a manual process involving spreadsheets. I'd love to get this automated, but am not sure how.. can anyone offer some helpful advice?
