how to use mail merge with custom fields

I have a custom field created called "UOM".  This resides under Quote - Quote Line Items, then it is a custom field created.  How do I reference this field in a mail merge in word?

    Sorry, I am still struggling with this...   I don't see anything under that screen that talks about field accessibility.
