We're running into an issue with state and country picklists enabled in our ORG and validating addresses in AvaTax. AvaTax is expecting two digit state and country codes, however, when a quote is created OOB in Salesforce CPQ the state and country and spelled out in the address fields on the quote. Since these fields are just plain text fields, there doesn't seem to be a way to convert them to the two digit codes.
I've tried disabling the auto creation of the address from the quote setting on the managed package and using the auto-populate functionality, but that never seems to work. The instructions are clearly outdated. I'm considering using process builder, but I was wondering if anyone else has run into this issue and what their workaround was?

Hi Michael (https://success.salesforce.com/profile?u=0053A00000CxO4q),
Avalara recently released an API that allows ISO country codes. By that you can use 2 or 3 character country codes or use full country name & validate address with AvaTax. Please try it out and let us know.
Thanks!
