We are using a third party lead generation company and due to the integration, all accounts that are created by the lead generation company are created by me (admin).
I would like to run reports on account creation to demos planned by individual rep and want to include these third party accounts as well in each reps calculation.
In order to do so, I'd like to use a field reference on the account owner for a custom 'third party owner' field that acts as a second 'created by' field and does not change going forward. I am able to use process builder with ISCHANGED and ISBLANK formulas to make sure the 'third party owner' does not change when the account owner is changed, however, my field reference automatically references me (bc I technically created the account) which defeats the purpose of the formla.
Essentially, can anyone help me with setting up the following:
-A workflow rule that references a user lookup field on creation and still allows one change (if the source is our third party) but does not allow a change if the source is not our third party.
Thank you for the help and apologies for the long winded post.

You will want to use a Validation Rule to make sure the field doesn't change when you don't want it to.
You can use Process Builder to set the field when a record is created by setting the Process to run only "when a record is created"
