Hi all,

Again, my tiny brain is being confused by approvals :) My company has multiple units following the same general process based on value of opportunity, going to four different signoff comittees, but with different approvers for each unit. Therefore, there are 4x4 process (4 units, 4 value-based submission routes).

So, I'm working on just one at the moment, as it'll be the hightest value so I can clone and cut for the lower value routes. So let's say it's Unit X, for value >£50m. I've added all of the relevant stage changes and record type changes, and it seems to move perfectly through them.

However, that's the problem. The idea is that an opportunity is submitted for approval, and if approved is then returned unlocked to the owner to continue working. At the moment, when I click 'submit for approval' it's working fine first up, I approve it, but then it immediately sends me the next approval request (I'm the approver because I'm testing this in sandbox).

TL;DR :) It isn't pausing in the approval flow to allow for a manual submission at each stage. How can I force it to leave the process and unlock the record at each step, and not just plow through?

thanks in advance

Richard

Perhaps you could set up multiple approval processes.  The first would be your first level and it would also update some hidden field.  Once that hidden field has a value, the user could then submit to the Stage 2 approval, or it could be automated based upon some value being entered.
