we are creating many dashboards that are used e.g. for showing some scorecards or some status/achievement numbers. Therefore it is acutally more than enought that a user can just view the chart(s) on that dashboard. there is no further need to be able to click and go into the underlying report.
But so far I think I always had to share the underlying reports as well with all the users in order they could see the charts in the dashboard? is this correct? Or how can I achieve to have the user seeing the charts of the dashboard without the need giving/sharing the underlying reports?

Store reports on you personal folder or any folder which is not shared with user and then share the dashboard folder only.
Or schedule the dashboard to user based on request time may be daily/ weekly
