Hi there,

 

We have the Professional edition, and I'm wondering if we can have more than one owner per Opportunity? I ask because there may be an Opportunity in Salesforce that needs to be updated by both the relevant sales rep, as well as the in-house technician. Both users need to be able to update the Opportunity. I've done some research and it looks like there's some team setting you can enable but this is not available with the Professional edition. Is there any way I can sort out my problem?

    No.  You can have only 1 owner, but you can add one or more custom Lookup(User) fields that associate other users to the record. This is often done for people related such as a BDR or a Success Rep.

     

    These custom lookup fields will not change the Security Settings and resulting access to the record though.  

     

    By default, all records are read-write for everyone. If your Salesforce org has been configured to be more restrictive using Sharing Settings, you will need to add Sharing Rules to allow additional users the appropriate access.
