However, nothing that I do in the seems to be working as my certificate is regected. so I am wondering if if the signature has to be done by a proper trusted entity like digicert or something like that? but if self sign is allow in this type of certificates, what will be the steps to do it?

What error are you getting?. And you are getting error on which system?
