When logging email from Lightning for Gmail extension, "Related To" field in activity is blank

 

As can be seen in the screenshot the Related To for this email activity is blank. The email is still found in the activity history for the contact file but the actual relationship doesn't seem to be there and it's making it difficult to report on emails via our other business intelligence tools.

 

I've done multiple tests in sandboxes for multiple records and it's the case for all emails. Has anyone else experienced this? Could this be something wrong with my configuration of the extension?Assigned To field is blank when logging emails from Salesforce extension for Chrome
