Validation Rule to eliminate a mandatory field

Is it possible to make a field NOT mandatory with a validation rule?  we have 4 fields in the opportunity page, if a user fills in those fields, there is another field we do not want to be mandatory anymore?

    Well in that case, you make it **NOT** required anymore by ticking it OFF from the - 

    1. Page Layout
    2. Field Detail Page

    And then use a

    Validation Rule like as below - 

     

     

    This means that the Field(Other Field) becomes mandatory when any one of the other fields are left empty!
    AND(
        OR(
            ISBLANK(Field_1__c),
            ISBLANK(Field_2__c),
            ISBLANK(Field_3__c),
            ISBLANK(Field_4__c)
        ),
        ISBLANK(Other_Field__c)
    )
