I am working on a requirement, WHere I have to let the user goto the url and append it with the specific record ID
This ID is on Lead and I need to display this on opportunity
So Far What I have done is
1.created field on Opportuntiy-A
2. Mapped the lead field to this new opportunity field-B
3.Created another field on opporuntiy (URL data type) and appended the new filed after the URL (B)
I expected this to work as normal how ever I see that the URL data type is not letting the ! save
THis is what I want
HYPERLINK("https://customerconnect.XXXXXX.com/lead-detail?id={!opportunity.Marketing_ID__c"}, "Click Here" )
Where as it is saved as
HYPERLINK("https://customerconnect.XXXXXX.com/lead-detail?id=opportunity.Marketing_ID__c", "Click Here" )
I guess it does not inherit the opportunity fields to append as query string
Any suggestions here?

Are you adding this URL formula field to the Opportunity object? If that is the case then you don't need to include the !Opportunity portion of the formula and should be able to reference the field name directly. This would make your formula field look like this: HYPERLINK("https://customerconnect.XXXXXX.com/lead-detail?id=" & {!Marketing_ID__c}, "Click Here" )
