I am currently shopping for an e-signature solution- and was hoping somebody in the community could make a reccomendation based on their experience.
I am mainly looking to use this to collect signatures on invoices - I use a custom object to generate my invoices and send them via workflow email notification to my clients. The invoices are currently sent using a VF email template, with a PDF attachment. I am hoping to be able to embed an esignature in the PDF.
I am looking at Docusign, but it is pricey. Has anyone had success with other apps?

There are a ton -- all with different features and prices. I suggest installing a few from the AppExchange into your Sandbox and trying them out. Comparing their features to your needs. That will make it easy to decide which to choose.
Note that one reason many companies use DocuSign is that it is globally recognized and customers are not suspicious of the links in their emails. I am not advocating DS, but bring it up as another non-feature item to consider.
