Why do users not receive email invite to events?

When we create an event in Salesforce and invite other internal Salesforce users to the event they are not receiving an email indicating that they have been invited to the event.

 

Any ideas as to how we can solve this problem?

    Check the email log and see if the emails got sent out first. Go to:

     

    Setup | Administration Setup | Monitoring | Email Log files
