I have set up a few email notifications with several related users listed. The object has 4 user fields for notifications. Rarely will all 4 users be listed. Normally 1-2 out of the 4 will be used. Since all 4 fields are listed for the notification what happens if only 2 users are listed? Does it still 'send' 4 emails? Does it only send 2 since there are only two active users listed? I would hate to run into an email limit by sending emails to blank address fields. Thank you for your help!

What edition of Salesforce do you have? I highly doubt you are going to hit your email limit via email alerts. But to answer your question, if there is no value in fields 3 and 4, then there is nothing to send an email to and therefore only two emails will be sent.
