Mast-Detail on same object

I have an vendor object and want to setup a "Master-detail" lookup on that object to "link" it with other vendors. When I go to setup a junction object, I cant pull in related field details from that other vendor onto the related list page. Salesforce wont let me link the Master-Detail back to itself. How can I link one vendor to another AND pull in related details of that vendor onto the related list page. 

 

NOTE: I know I could do this by simply having a lookup filed, the problem is that I have many vendors to linkup and having 10 or 20 lookup fields doesnt make sense.

    You can not have master detail realtion linking to same object.

     

    If you have requirement that many vendors can relate to many other vendors. You can still use custom object Vendor Relation to which will have two lookup relation to vendor. It will act as junction object

     

    If you have requirement of many to one relationship which means many vendors can be related to one vendor. Then you can use Lookup relation on vendor object to link to other vendor.
