I'm looking at the possibility to lock down the Industry field, or a set of fields once verified for accuracy. The net goal is to not allow future updates, either by SFDC Users or via an update from a Vendor feed. (example: I identify an account as being in Engineering. A vendor feeding the system thinks the proper Industry is Consulting.) I know how to set up the integration to only update where blank, but I want to make sure no one else can update the field or set of fields once verified. I'm thinking of creating a checkbox "verified data" and then using that as a determining factor for other fields to lock down. Is this possible? Has anyone else used this idea or something similar successfully?
