Is it possible to migrate existing chatter comments to another Chatter group?

Is it possible to migrate existing chatter comments to another Chatter group?  We're consolidating a number of chatter groups and want to move the comments from various old groups to new ones. I don't see chatter comments as an option under "Update" in the DataLoader. However, I do see Chatter comments under Insert and Export.

    Hi Petyr,

    Chatter comments aren't directly movable between Chatter groups through Data Loader. The Chatter FeedComment records are related to their original FeedItem, and the FeedItem/group relationship isn't something you can simply update to point to another group. 

     

    For a consolidation, you would generally need to recreate the posts/comments in the new group using the Chatter API/Apex rather than trying to update the existing comments. 

     

    Also, be aware that recreating them won't necessarily preserve the original comment IDs, timestamps, or other history exactly. 

     

    If preserving the complete Chatter history is important, I'd recommend checking with Salesforce Support for the options available for your specific org/release.
