Making a Validation Rule for Blank Picklist value

Hi!

 

I'm looking to make a validation rule at the opportunity level that references two (single-select) Picklists. The question is - If you select "Contract Sale" you need to select the "Contract Plan". At this time, I  DO NOT want to make these dependent picklists.

 

My formula looks like this...

 

ISPICKVAL( Sales_Type__c ,"Contract Sale" )

 

&&

 

ISBLANK( Contract_Plan__c )

 

I continue to get an error message that the Picklist fields are only supported in certain functions. I've tried writing it a few different ways and continue to have issues. Please advise :) Making a Validation Rule for Blank Picklist value
