Needless to say that is a nightmare in itself since these are a) not technically sales leads and 2) it's been a duplicate record nightmate.
They have two different "customers":
- Wholesalers
- Consumers (people who purchase from their wholesalers)
Group #1 is modeled in the system leveraging Accounts/Contacts. Group #2, I'd like to put on PERSON ACCOUNTS since these people eventually will also be able to purchase directly online from my client.
They will be implementing a new customer registration form on their website to capture the actual info about the people making requests via the CONTACT US form (so they don't have to fill out their contact info everytime they make a request).
The thing I'm struggling with though is, they have various TYPES of CONTACT US requests. Some are true customer service-level type of action/responses and other are people/businesses wanting to become a vendor/wholesaler.
So I can't just classify EVERYONE that registers on the new customer registration form as Group #2 (Consumer) as if they complete one of those CONTACT US requests that says "I want to become a wholesaler" - they should come in as a LEAD, and assigned to the sales team for follow-up/qualification and later turned into an Account/Contact if approved.
Thoughts on how I can manage that unique scenario? My fear is, I could have Sally Sue complete the Customer Registration form and we bring her into the system as a PERSON ACCOUNT...then later she fills out a CONTACT US request asking how she can become a wholesaler and then generates a lead record...

Oh and I wanted to track/capture all the CONTACT US submissions via CASES in Salesforce.
