I have a field "employees" in the account layout and would like to use it in a contact-search "e.g. look up all hr managers of companies with more than 1000 employees.

Or is there a simple way to copy field content of the account field in a contact field?

Thanks for support

    Your answer:

What you could do is create a custom formula field on the contact which

copies the account value. Under contact, create a a new custom formula field

that is a text type, and click the insert field button (On the advanced

formula tab). Highlight the Account field with > at the end, the in the

next box choke the Employees field you want to show. Save and you are good.

You now have the employee field available for search on the contact, and it

is read only (so users can't change it).
