Does activity capture wipe out current activities on accounts and contacts and if so why?

When a customer enables EAC, we automatically create an EAC org for that customer org within AWS. Detailed in page 2 here https://resources.docs.salesforce.com/latest/latest/en-us/sfdc/pdf/sales_activity_capture_security.pdf In order to not stream/sync events, you are able to uncheck Events in the EAC Configuration for EAC standard (no cost - without a license like Inbox).
