I am trying to login to my microstrategy application using SAML & SF as the IDP.

I have created the connection. When I login to the microstrategy application it makes a request to SF to make sure I am logged into SF but won't allow me to login to microstrategy. In the past I run the command ALTER USER "c8901562" TRUSTEDLOGIN "c8901562"; in microstrategy to make the user a trustedlogin and it has worked. The issue now is that I am not returning nameID so I don't know which user id to make a trustedlogin user.
