a great way that i tested this is to just turn it on in your sandbox. i've been playing around in the sandbox for some time now. I found this to be pretty easy

Another great option if you don't have a sandbox is the Preview feature. You can access it from the Transition Assistant in Salesforce Classic. It's a live tunnel into your org in Lightning Experience, so you can see with your own eyes how things look and work.
