Starting the process of migrating from Classic to Lightning. Wondering how to handle State and Country picklists if its not yet enabled in Classic. Should we enable before we implement Lightning, or does it make more sense to activate it during the Lightning implementation? (We have a ton of mapping/configuring to complete)

State & Country picklist only applies to Account/ Contact and there is no dependence of doing it before or after.
I didn't see much benefit of enabling state/ country picklist unless you maintain Acc/ Contact manually in Salesforce & sales users enter it manually (to avoid fat-finger) & they have to select select state or country from the picklist or may be a reporting advantage to quickly apply filter or grouping.
