Hi Everyone,

I am using Dell Boomi to push data in Einstein analytics. Here in Boomi, i have to create a json file component specifically for Date fields to use "fiscalmonthoffset" paramemter. But am very new to boomi. Could you please share any document or steps or any file you have created for boomi which helps in achieving this requirement.

Or please let me know how can i imply this "fiscalmothoffset" parameter on date fields when i am getting data in Einstein via Dell Boomi.

    Hi David,

I believe you are right in that you need to use the JSON metadata file in order to change the fiscal month offset. Since you are new to Boomi, it might be easier for us to jump on a conference call together and walk through in detail. My email addy is

Here are the high-level steps to create a JSON Profile to format your CSV Data Set upon upload.

1- From within the Salesforce Analytics Connector Operation in Boomi, create a new "JSON Metadata Cache" Profile (click green + sign). You can save and Import the attached JSON file below (I copied this file from the Salesforce help doc below so you can see the related CSV file it is formatting and all of the required fields).

2 - Create an Index in the Doc Cache so you can reference this Profile each time you want to use this particular format for a Data Set. You can use a Dynamic Document Property for this with an arbitrary name or one of the Object field element values, like the data set name ("SalesData" in the example)

3 - On your desktop, using Notepad or the like, edit the same attached JSON file to include values for the each format option you want. You only need to have values for the required fields and the optional fields that you want to change - like the "fiscalmonthoffset". The defaults are already prepopulated so shouldn't be too much editing.

4 - Take the edited file with values and cut and paste its contents into a Message Step in your Boomi Process and connect it in front of an "Add to Cache" Step. This will load the formatting values into the doc cache. You may need a Set Properties step to assign the Index value.

5 - For your process, you'll have Start Step with a connector that pulls your data to be loaded, then a Branch step with 2 Branches. One with the Message Step and Add to Doc Cache step and a second branch with the Salesforce Analytics Connector. (You may have a Map step in between if you need to transform your data prior to loading).

6 - Use a set properties step either in your Map Functions or if no Map, then as a Set Properties Step, to set the Index of the JSON Profile you want from your Doc Cache. (see the Boomi Help link for the document properties to set.)

    That's it, simple, right? :-)
