Why is sharing button not available in Lightning yet? This is like one of so important functionalities to have. How are the users supposed to share records without Switching to classic? This reduces lightning adoption. The only way is to install the custom package Lightning Sharing. We already have a custom action for sharing in one of our orgs but it should be available out of the box since it is a core functionality in Classic. I was really hoping to see it with this release. Can we please get an update on this from Salesforce if it is on the roadmap?  https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=0873A000000LmluQAC

This is definitely on our roadmap. One of the challenges is that we are building new APIs for Lightning Experience, given everything in it is built off of public UI APIs. We had to do the same and create new APIs for sharing. That work has been underway and made some great strides in Winter '19, but it is looking like the scope of the APIs and UI work will take us into a Summer '19 GA timeframe for bringing the actual manual sharing functionality into LEX (safe harbor). In the meantime, the App Exchange package may be a suitable stopgap for some that we recommend testing out.
