Another question for the #PDX event team.  There is a check box on a user record called 'salesforce classic user'.

What is this check box doing in respect to Lightning?

1) User can ONLY see Classic?

OR

2) User can see both Lightning and Classic and switch back and forth?

OR

3) If unchecked, User can ONLY see Lightning?

Thanks for researching this!

    Hope this helps ...

That checkbox to my understanding is for the older Salesforce Classic Mobile solution (an app on iOS and Android, Blackberry). Salesforce1 superseded that app on mobile devices when it was initially launched in 2014 but clients can continue to use the Salesforce Classic solution until the expiration date which is due to occur on December 1st 2017. Some newer orgs do not have the option but older environments will still see it until its retired formally.

Their is some options to force users in classic only by not enabling "Lightning Experience User". This will keep them in classic. I hear that their may be a new setting coming that when enabled will prevent you from entering classic if you're already in lightning.
