The statement was made on the webinar to request a new sandbox today if you want a preview instance. Just to clarify, if you have a sandbox on a preview instance (CS21 for example) you don't need to do anything else, correct? I'm referring to https://www.salesforce.com/blog/2016/04/salesforce-summer-16-sandbox-preview-instructions-1.html??d=701300000021Jky&eid=ss-tc.

That's correct - CS21 will be upgraded to Summer '16 without any further action. Just make sure not to refresh after 11:59pm PST on Friday, otherwise you'll be switched to a non-preview instance. But if you don't need to refresh anyway, you're all good.
