Hi! Does anyone know if I can use Visual Workflow to count the number of events a user has during a given month/year and update a field on a custom object? Right now I am having to run a report, export it, pull the sums, and re-import it to a custom number field on the custom object. We use this custom object to populate our performance reviews at the end of each month, and I would like for the reviewer to not have to run a report for every employee to get the most reliable # of events while they're completing their review in Salesforce (another custom object).

Right now my thought process is to find events where the Event.WhoId Is Null is False and the Event.AssignedId = Performance.Employee__c. And then perform a record count of those events where YEAR(Event.Date) && MONTH(Event.Date) = YEAR(Performance.Date) && MONTH(Performance.Date).

Has anyone every seen something like this before? Thank you in advance for your help!

Aha! Thank you for your help!

I have been playing with your workflow suggestion this morning and I hit a little bit of a bump. The LastModifiedDate field is not available when selecting User as the Workflow Object. I'm still playing with Process Builder and Flow as possible solutions to update these fields across objects.
