I am reviewing the following training Building Applications with Force.com

- Part 1 under module "Managing Your Users' Experience" there is a knowledge question the following question.. Identify all True Statements.

1. If you remove access to an app from a profile, the users in that profile will still be able to see the tabs in that application.

2. If you hide a tab from a profile, the users in that profile will not be able to see records for that object.

3. If you have two record types for an object, you need to have two page layouts for that object

4. If a user does not have access to a specific record type, they will still be able to see the records with the record type.

I think its only 1 & 2, but the program says 1, 2 & 4 - Can someone explain to me why 4 is correct... I my last company we used records types all the time to control what records they could see.

You may have used record types to control what picklist values they could see. A user's visibility to a record is purely based on the sharing settings.
