The Tableau Data Analyst Certification

The Salesforce Certified Tableau Data Analyst certification (known in this module as the Tableau Data Analyst certification for short) is designed for individuals who enable stakeholders to make business decisions by understanding the business problem, identifying data to explore for analysis, and delivering actionable insights.

By successfully passing the Salesforce Certified Tableau Data Analyst exam (known in this module as the Tableau Data Analyst exam for short), you demonstrate a thorough knowledge and applied understanding of the core Tableau knowledge and experiential development skills needed to work with various Tableau products, including Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep, and either Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud.

To pass the Tableau Data Analyst exam, you can do the following.

  • Connect to data sources and perform data transformations.
  • Explore and analyze data.
  • Create meaningful visualizations that answer key business questions.
  • Share and keep content current by publishing, scheduling, and maintaining it on the web.

Preparing for the Exam

Preparing for the Tableau Data Analyst exam takes time. This module is focused on all of the key exam topics, with each topic covered in its own unit. There are no prerequisites for the exam. Upon successful completion of this exam, candidates are awarded the title of Salesforce Certified Tableau Data Analyst. This title is valid for one year.

Recommended Experience

  • A minimum of 6 months of experience with Tableau and Tableau products, including Tableau Prep, Tableau Desktop, and either Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud.
  • A combination of on-the-job experience, course completion, and self-study to maximize your chances of passing the exam.

Prerequisites

No prerequisites are required; however, the Data Analyst should have the skills to pass the Salesforce Certified Tableau Desktop Foundations exam.

Note: The Data Analyst exam is an advancement of the skills developed from the Tableau Desktop Foundations certification. Candidates are not tested on the level of the Tableau Desktop Foundations exam because they are assumed to possess the competencies covered in that exam.

Maintain Your Certification

One of the benefits of holding a Salesforce certification is always being up to date on new product releases. You'll be required to complete the Salesforce Certified Tableau certification maintenance module on Trailhead once a year.

Don’t let your hard-earned certification expire! If you don't complete all maintenance requirements by the due date, your certification will expire.
