We are currently installing Tableau Server (8100.14.408.1805, 64-bit) on a new Windows 2008 R2 machine.
While configuring Tableau Server, namely while configuring of the SSL-certificate, we encounter the following problem:
Everything, seems to work perfectly, we can proceed and save the configuration as mentioned here (http://onlinehelp.tableausoftware.com/current/server/en-us/ssl_config.htm).
After having rebooted Tableau Server the request on port 8000 (configured) is not automatically redirected on SSL port 443 and no service is listening on port 443.
Doing a comparison with the httpd-config file from the apache server of a previous installation of the Tableau Server (8100.14.0312.2049, 32-bit), we realized that the httpd-config file on the new installation is not touched, anymore.
Any idea how to solve this problem?

Chris, have you opened a support ticket on this one or heard anything back? I believe I am running into the exact same thing - users using a bookmarked URL to http://tableauserver:8000 are not automatically being redirected to SSL (we're on version 8.1.6).
