Survey Results: The Challenges of Nonprofit Tech Transitions
The full results of my recent survey research into the challenges that affect nonprofit technology projects are now available.
The summary: the 111 nonprofit professionals, consultants, and software vendors who took the survey see a broad range of challenges happening in these projects, and happening frequently.
If you are conducting a tech transition at your organization, you should expect these challenges, according to the findings. While success stories grab the headlines, these challenges seem to be the norm for most projects.
Armed with this understanding, my hope is that nonprofits can make more informed choices about whether, when, and how they change technologies, and be better prepared when they do.
I'll be following up with recommendations based on the findings, as well as special considerations for AI-centric changes. A special thanks to everyone who participated in the survey.
