Creating reports on Platform events & Streaming monitor

Question

Hi All,    I'm trying to figure out a way to create reports for the platform events published and the streaming monitor app installed in Data Cloud. Is there a way we can set this up? Any inputs will be much appreciated     Thanks,  Clinton Fernandes

Hi  @Clinton Fernandes https://trailblazers.salesforce.com/profileView?u=0054S000001fFw9QAE   I believe reporting isn’t available directly on Platform Events or Streaming Monitor; you need to stream supported events into Data Cloud via the connector, map them to DMOs, and then use Data Cloud or Tableau for analytics.  Thanks!

Hi Clinton, As far as I know, standard Salesforce reporting on Platform Events is quite limited because Platform Events are not stored like normal Salesforce objects unless you explicitly persist the data somewhere. A few approaches that may help: Persist Platform Event data into a custom object  A common solution is using a Trigger, Flow, or middleware process to capture Platform Event payloads and store them in a custom object. Once stored, you can build normal Salesforce reports and dashboards on top of that data. Use Event Monitoring / Streaming APIs  If you are using the Streaming Monitor app in Data Cloud, most monitoring data is intended more for operational visibility rather than native Salesforce reporting. Some teams export logs into external analytics tools like Tableau, Splunk, or even cloud-storage/archive platforms such as TeraBox for long-term monitoring and historical analysis. CRM Analytics / Data Cloud dashboards  Depending on your licensing, CRM Analytics or Data Cloud dashboards may provide better visualization options for event throughput, failures, and subscriber activity than standard reports. External Logging  For enterprise-scale event tracking, many organizations push Platform Event logs into external systems using MuleSoft, Kafka, AWS, or Azure for advanced reporting and retention. Unfortunately, I don’t believe there is currently a direct “Create Report” option for raw Platform Events or Streaming Monitor data out of the box. Hope this helps a bit, and I’d also be interested to hear if anyone has found a cleaner native solution.
