Salesforce is offering Data Cloud at no additional cost with our account. Does anyone have experience or insights to share about what to consider before enabling this feature?

You can request the feature through “your account.” It requires signing a zero fee contract that prescribes the overage amount rates for data storage as well as data points. I’m unclear about the latter one means precisely.
So it’s pay as you go with a certain amount free. It is unclear if they will continue to offer the free amount each year or not. I’ve been in several forums where that has been asked, but not answered. I assume they do not know.
So at best it’s a starter on a small application, which will eventually cause you extra billing as you grow. Such an application obviously needs to be of high value. At worst, it’s enough of a grant to do a proof of concept only. Salesforce has a history of using both to enhance sales, so I really don’t know which it is.
I enabled it, but I actually remain unclear about what I wish to use it for if anything. I have lots of ideas, but no proof of value.
