Cannot update already occurred event

Hello guys,

Do you know why it is not possible to update already occurred event (the date past today)? The sales user needs to update the description following day.

There is no validation rule nor workflow rule and any other automation active on this object? Or is it a standard feature in Salesforce? What could be the workaround?
