Hi, I have a custom object that has a lookup to the Contact object. When users search for the correct contact they see this. I have tried several help pages but I cannot find a way to display the Account name.

says outright that " For contacts and opportunities, the related account is the secondary field by default and can’t be customized." I'd be happy with that but it's clearly not happening. What else can I do?

SETUP-- > OBJECT MANAGER --> Contact --> Search Layout -->Default Layout -->Edit
Set your Account Name to number 2 on the screen below.
However, I think you can only display two fields. All contacts have the same settings.
