Approval Process guidance

Here I want to create an Approval Process as whenever any user made changes In Integration Start Date it will notify the manager and asked for the Approval and if Manager gives the approval the field value gets locked as no one can edit the field.

 

But when am trying to create the approval Process under Initial Submission Action, when am choosing the field as Integration Start Date, its not showing any Pending or any other value its only showing two options as 

 

A blank value (null)

 

Use a formula to set the new value

 

So, what's need to be done here,what should be the next step and also need the guidance what step should be there under Final Approval Actions ,Final Rejection Actions, Like what i need to do under Final Approval Actions  and Final Rejection Actions under ADD NEW(Field update, Email Alert).

 

Am wondering  what steps I have to do in Initial Submission Actions,Final Approval Actions,Final Rejection Actions and how I can Lock the record?

 

Please can anybody guide me,as I am new with the Approval Process.

 

Any Help or suggestion would be appreciable as its very urgent for me to complete.

    @Indranee,

     

    You need to create an approval process with following filters,

     

    Integration Start Date Status is not equal to null (You can put filter according to your requirements).

     

    In intial submission > set record should be locked.

     

    In final approver action > After approval, if you want to send an email, update any field (like "Approval Status" field as 'Approved' value), create any task or send outbound message.

     

    In final rejection action > same as above, it will fire after rejection.

     

    After approval process setup, you can create a process builder to trigger this approval process whenever integration start date status field is changed.

     

    Please let me know if any other help needed.
