Custom Field on Related List

I am trying to add a custom field to a related list and when I go to insert the desired field it does not show up as an option for me. Is this becasue SF does not allow you to add custom fields to a related lists? If so that would be a HUGE pain. If this is the case does anyone know a way to work around this??

Here is a picture of the custom field "Duration" that does not appear in the "Available Fields" option on the related list view editor.

    Yes you can customize that screen too. 

     

    Go to setup, object manager, and then select Price Book Entry. 

     

    Go to the Search Layout and edit it to add the columns you need.
