Opportunity Close Date Notification

I'm trying to create a Workflow Rule that notifies the Opportunity Owner 7 days before the Opportunity Close Date.

 

I've got the Time-Dependent Workflow Actions working, however, I only want the rule to evaluate opportunities that haven't been created in the past 3 days and this is where I'm getting stuck.

 

I've set the Evaluation Criteria to "Evaluate the rule when a record is created, and any time it's edited to subsequently meet criteria"

 

The Rule Criteria

is as follows;

  1. Opportunity Stage NOT EQUAL to Closed Won
  2. Opportunity Stage NOT EQUAL to Closed Lost

I assume I then need to add a rule about Created Date but this appears to have to be a numerical value?

 

Would anyone have any advice? Alternatively, I'm open to suggestions if you believe there is a better way to do it.

    Hello Erin,

     

    Change the "Rule Criteria" to "formula evaluates to true"

    and use this formula:

    AND( 
    CASE(StageName, 
    "Closed Won",1, 
    "Closed Lost",1, 
    0 ) = 0, 
    DATEVALUE(CreatedDate) < TODAY() - 3
    )
