I have read up a bit on security tokens for Salesforce and have noted answers in this community that states that security tokens only refresh when either the environment is refreshed/changed or if the user password is reset/changed.

However, these questions do not answer what happens if a Salesforce environment is switched from one instance to another. When this happens, do security tokens get refreshed or are we able to continue using our existing security token?

Thanks!

    Hey everyone,

Going off of Naveen's answer I contacted Salesforce Support and they answered with the following:

"I see you are wondering about your security token in regards to org migrations.

Just like your password your security token will remain the same after the org migration has taken place. This will allow you to use the same login information and prevent issues with integrations connecting to your org that could cause a disruption in business."

So according to Salesforce Support the security tokens are not reset during or after an org instance migration.

    Thanks everyone for the answers!
