Hello,

We have Salesforce Professional Edition. In reality we sent out some offer mails offline, but want to create a record against every contact as if an Email was sent.

I am using Dataloader.io to import. If I try to import an EmailMessage, it requires me to create a Case first. Alternatively, I could create a task that shows up in the "HTML Email Status" list.

Is there anyway to import an EmailMessage without a case. Which of the above two will be preferable and is there a better alternative?

Thanks for your time.

Regards,

Shahid

When you say "Case", we generally request Salesforce for any feature activation.

Yes, if you want to store in Email Message object, we need to create a record in Case object.

Why can't you store them as Tasks with Type='Email' to those Contacts?
