Not sure what I'm missing here, please help...

Using a custom object (Candidates) I'm trying to track the field history for a custom field (Status).  The "Track Field History" has been enabled within the object for several weeks and "Track History" has been enabled within the right field as well.  The field history is displayed within the object so I can see that changes have happened but I can't get a report that shows all activity for all Candidates.

What am I doing wrong?

Is this for a detail of a Master-Detail object? That type of report is not allowed.

    Here's why and a workaround:

Why can't I report on the field history tracking of my object?

Why can't I report on the field history tracking of my Object? Are there any workaround for this

    Resolution

Reporting on field history tracking of a custom object is not available if the object is a detail of a Master-Detail Relationship.

Reason:  The existing reports can't drive sharing from another table.

For example, if the custom object was a child of an account, and defined as having its parent control the sharing visibility, then the report will have to use the sharing on the account to determine which history rows to display.  This capability has not been implemented.  This is currently on the IdeaExchange:https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=08730000000BrlxAAC

    Work Arounds:

    1.  Create workflows that captures a field's value when the record is saved.

    2.  Use Analytic snapshot feature to capture data at a point in time.  The analytic snapshot has limitations such as it only displays 2000 records at a time (see in Help & Training).

    3.  Change the relationship of the custom object to a "lookup" relationship from a master-detail relationship.  There are implications with this change and we advise further research into this topic:

    Cause Number 2:

If this is not a Detail object then check to make sure reporting is enabled for your custom object.
