Can I share a public link to a file via a site with custom domain?

If we have files stored in Salesforce (PDFs that are "ContentDocuments" in Files) we can make a public link to that which can be emailed to customers. However they start wit the instance URL.  Ideally we'd like to make them like http://documents.mycompany.com/blah/blah/1fdslkfds9043 or whatever. 

 

We already have a site set up like this, but can I serve out the documents public links via that site?

    I've already set my site up like this (Salesforce Content Delivery Network) and the public links point back to salesforce instead of from the site I uploaded them to (the custom domain). I don't want the links to have "salesforce" in the link, but rather the custom domain I have just set up.
