I thought maybe it's third party integration, but I need to know what the User is doing when this happens. So I created a simple workflow to send me an email whenever one of these mystery Events gets created. If I manually create an Event, my workflow works. But they are still magic-mysteriously appearing after activating my workflow, *without* triggering my workflow. So they're being created, but I'm not getting the email. Based on the User who is the "Created By", I know this record is being created by some sort of automated process.
So I thought I'd just log stuff. So I've got logging turned on for Automated Processes and Platform Integration User. But no debug logs are being created.
Any suggestions for next steps or likely culprits?

Steve: Hi. I definitely don't have the magic answer but I was wondering if all of the Events have the same name? If so, I'd go into the code repository and do a search for that name just to see if it is referenced somewhere. Also do you have any Installed Packages? Is there anything in the Opportunity Field History that coincides with the creation of the Event? I'm sure you've already looked at some of these but I'm just thinking outloud.
