So, it is my understanding that Accounts are intended as B2B, while Person Accounts are B2C.
Previously we have always been a B2B businness thus always using creating 'Account' for our new customers.
We are now however also playing the B2C space, and as such I have noticed a heap of accounts being set-up which are actualy a person (who has placed an order online). The Account is setup purely as that persons name and the pushed through to Zoura for invoicing.
I have now been told that the 'Person Account' would be better suited for these B2C account creations.
Can someone please tell me the manin differences between a an 'Account' and a 'Person Account', and what benefits there would be in enabling Person Accounts, and using for B2C.
...and on the flip side, what if any issues could arise from using 'Accounts' for B2C customers.
Any info & help would be greatly appreciated :)

The main 'issue' arising from using Person Accounts is that you can no longer set different Sharing Settings and Sharing Rules for Contacts from Accounts. In other words, Contact Sharing Settings are always 'controlled by Parent' -- which is the Account.
When using Person Accounts, you get some new Record Types. When an Account is set to a Person Account record type, it pretends to have access to fields normally found on a Contact (Email, First Name, Last Name). And, in fact, behind the scenes, there is an automatic Contact record for each Account record. The 2 records are treated as the same, so you only enter the data once, but can then reference the record in places where either an Account is needed, or a Contact is needed.
If you set an Account record type to a business Account type, the Account behaves exactly as you see today. So, if you ever decided you didn't want to use Person Accounts, you would just stop selecting that Record Type when creating Accounts.
