Validation rule to make two different look-up fields required based on each other

I need a validation rule to make two different lookup fields required based off of each other on my cases. I keep messing it up :( Help!

 

My fields are:

  • ContactContact__c
  • Referred_by__c

    Hi Rian,

     

    Do you mean that if one has data, then the other should have data?  If so, try the formula below.

     

    NOT(ISBLANK(ContactContact__c))

     

    &&

     

    ISBLANK(Referred_by__c)
