Showing that a grouping has zero records in a report

I want to pull a report and create a chart that shows the number of sales calls made by each rep last week. I first tried a Task and Event report type and it worked, except a rep just doesn't show up on the report if they didn't have any calls. The manager wants to easily be able to see if a rep didn't make any calls, rather than the rep just missing entirely from the report. 

 

Is there a way to do this? I've tried creating a contacts w/ or w/o activities, but it's not really pulling the information I want - it is pulling a massive number where Assigned: Full name is blank and Activty Date is blank. Is this representing the contacts without activities? This is messing up the chart.

    That almost works, but the issue is I need to include a field that is on the task, and the report only includes activity fields. Can someone explain the difference between a task and activity, and is it possible to create a user report with tasks?
